Edinburgh casualty treated after 'carbon monoxide incident' at block of flats

Fire crews raced to a block of flats in Edinburgh following a 'carbon monoxide incident' on Tuesday evening.

Scottish Fire and Rescue swooped on Dumbryden Gardens in Wester Hailes at around 10.32pm on September 16 after reports of a carbon monoxide alarm activation.

Two fire appliances were dispatched to the scene while firefighters made sure the area was safe. One casualty was treated by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Crews left the scene at 11.53pm.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 10.23pm on Tuesday, 17 September to reports of a carbon monoxide alarm activation in a block of flats.

"Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to Dumbryden Gardens, Edinburgh, where firefighters ensured the area was safe.

"One casualty was handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service. Crews left the scene at 11.35pm."

SAS have been approached for comment.
