Edinburgh Christmas Market food and drink prices from pies to mulled wine

Edinburgh's legendary Christmas markets have returned to Princes Street Gardens - bringing with it an array of snacks and beverages.

With Scottish and international suppliers, visitors will have a wide choice of food to pick from after browsing the many gift stalls. On opening night, a huge crowd gathered at the German Sausage stall on Princes Street.

This year, Scottish beer brand Innis and Gunn have been named Official Beer Partner for Edinburgh's Christmas and is offering an alternative to mulled wine - mulled beer.

The Scottish alternative to mulled wine is made with Innis and Gunn Original Beer, Monkey Shoulder whisky, spices, and orange zest and costs £6.50.

Don't worry if you're still looking for a traditional mulled wine, the popular beverage is still available from the bars and there is even a stall dedicated to Glühwein.

Hot chocolate can be found throughout the market too with prices ranging from £4 with another stall serving 'luxury hot chocolate' for £4.80 with no toppings.

At the same stall, hot chocolate is available for £4 with marshmallows and cream for an extra £1.

The Luxury hot chocolate stall serves 'simply hot chocolate for £4.80 and a classic deluxe hot chocolate (served with cream, marshmallows and a flake) for £5.80.

Flavoured hot chocolates with toppings are £6.80. The Luxury hot chocolate stall also serves coffee including an Americano and latte for £4.50.
