West Princes Street Gardens has welcomed fairground rides to the Winter festival.

Edinburgh is turning into a winter wonderland with the Christmas markets and events taking over the city centre. While the iconic markets have arrived at the gardens near the Scott Monument, rides have opened in West Princes Street Gardens.

Classic fairground rides including a runaway train, waltzers and dodgems are included in the event - but all of the rides are card-only payments.

Food and drink stalls are also available next to the rides - although we might suggest eating after the waltzers. Adults and kids can choose from a range of hot drinks and snacks including churros.

To warm up on the chilly days, there is also a fire pit where punters can roast marshmallows.

Prices for the rides start at £3, with the most expensive coming in at £8.
