Edinburgh Commie Pool swimmers arrive to find water pumped into car park
The Commonwealth Pool is pumping drainage water into its staff car park due to ongoing sump pump failures.
Images from the building show two pipes emptying drainage water into the rear carpark. Several cars are pictured parked with front tyres submerged in the water.
Edinburgh Live reported on November 4 that the Commonwealth Pool was closed after an issue with the water and drains lead to 'no water' in the pool.

Concerns were raised by a pool-goer who said: "I really think this should be made aware to the public, people have no option but to park and walk through it."
Edinburgh Leisure bosses were quick to dispel rumours the water was sewage and assured the public the drainage poses no health risk.
An Edinburgh Leisure spokesperson said: “We acknowledge the recent concerns regarding water management at the Royal Commonwealth Pool, which is due to a recent technical issue with our facility's sump pump, which caused our venue to close for a half a day some weeks back.
“Due to the sump pump temporary failure, we have had to remove water into the staff car park area. The water is categorically NOT sewage, but drainage water.
“There are no health risks associated with this water discharge. We have an active remediation plan to fully resolve the pump system problems.
“Our priority remains the safety and comfort of both customers and staff. We are working with our maintenance team to permanently resolve the sump pump functionality and prevent any future drainage disruptions.”
