Edinburgh fire crews spotted in busy Old Town as punters enjoy night out

Fire crews have raced to Edinburgh’s old town on Friday evening.

Crowds of punters can be seen huddling outside a popular boozer at around 9pm on Friday night.

In images shared with Edinburgh Live, one fire appliance could be seen on Hunter Square outside The Tron.

One firefighter can be seen standing at the square. The nature of the call-out is currently unknown.

One eyewitness said: “So I was walking up to the Royal Mile and saw the fire engine.

“So I was walking up to the Royal Mile and saw the fire engine.

“It was really weird though, firefighters looked furious."

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been approached for comment.
