Edinburgh 'joyriders' dump burnt-out car on its roof as police tape off scene
An Edinburgh local was shocked after coming across a burnt out car on his morning commute.
Connor Gartland, 28, was on his way to work when he saw flashing lights on the old railway cycle path on Thursday morning.
Connor claimed he was told it was 'probably joyriders' by a police officer at the scene.

In images shared with Edinburgh Live, the scorched upturned vehicle can be seen on the pathway, used heavily by cyclists and walkers to get between Leith and Restalrig. Just before the bridge, police tape has been stuck to the remains of the car.
In a video, flashing lights can be seen in the distance while a police sprinter sits just yards away from the torched vehicle.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Connor said: "I was on my way to work and I saw blue lights. I wondered what was going on and then I saw police and tape and boom a burnt out car on its back. I asked the police what happened they said just a bunch of joyriders.
"I had to get off the path to let the recovery team through. It made me late for work. Raging! This is the second car on this cycle path in the last month or two."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4am on Thursday, 28 November, 2024 we received a report of a vehicle on fire on the cycle path, near to Boswall Avenue, Edinburgh.
"The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing."
