Edinburgh local angered by off-road biker youths 'chasing hare' through farmers field

A group off-road bikers were filmed racing through a farmers field as a walker looked on in horror as they witnessed the group chasing a hare through the crops.

The incident took place at the Broomhills fields, Liberton, on Tuesday, June 4, with Linda managing to film the group of teens who were seen riding dirt bikes as they allegedly chased an animal through the field.

Linda accused the group of 'using the stone heap as an assault course' and 'tearing over fields doing wheelies' as they 'chased a poor terrified hare.'

Alongside the local council, Linda has called for action to be taken with the incident reported to Police Scotland.

"So it was on the elevated field close to the Broomhills Cottage," she said. "My first concern was of the crops being trashed.

"I was then horrified to see they were chasing a hare. I only saw the hare when I watched the recording back.

"I've seen some of the bikers around the field before but not when they were planted with crops. At least two of them looked under the age of 16 to me."
