A post on the web page of Leith Links Community Council reads: "The next phase of the Leith Connections work is about to start, so be prepared for significant disruption to pedestrians, traffic, cyclists and bus services."

Roadworks will take place throughout winter and into the spring and summer 2025, as part of plans to make improvements to walking, wheeling and cycling.

A statement on the Leith Connections website reads: "We are pleased to inform you that construction will start on the next phase of the Leith Connections project from 18 November 2024 following several years of extensive consultation with the local community.

"In this phase we will make improvements to the streets between Foot of the Walk and Dock Street including features to make walking, wheeling and cycling safer.

"We will build the route in stages, beginning 18 November on Great Junction Street. In late November we will be undertaking up to 3 nights of work to remove traffic islands near the tram route and surfacing. We will do this at night to minimise disruption to the tram service and traffic.
