Edinburgh Lothian Buses cancel all services as rare red weather warning issued
Lothian will withdraw all Edinburgh buses on Friday due to a red weather warning for gale force winds.
The travel operator says it has taken the "difficult" decision to withdraw all services across the capital and the Lothians between 10am and 5pm on Friday, January 24.
Vehicles will return to depots between 8am and 9am as Lothian apologised for any inconvenience but added the safety of colleagues and customers is "paramount."

It comes after an announcement was made that all local schools will close on Friday as well as trains being cancelled across Scotland and dozens of flights grounded due to severe weather.
Taking to social media a spokesperson for Lothian wrote: "As a result of the red weather warning across our entire operating area on 24 January between the hours of 10am and 5pm, we have taken the difficult decision to withdraw all services during these hours.
