A fed up Edinburgh cyclist has called for action to be taken against flytippers dumping in a scenic spot.

Roy Mcintosh has had enough of finding Asda shopping trolleys clogging up the burn by the Innocent Railway path by The Jewel.

He fears the trolleys will block the water flow and lead to environmental damage in the area.

Roy says something must be done to tackle the repetitive problem plaguing the community.

In images shared with Edinburgh Live, litter and Asda trolleys can be seen littered throughout a burn close to superstore at The Jewel.

The pictures were captured on Saturday September 28.

"I went a cycle yesterday down Innocent Railway and down by The Jewel and there was a burn full of trolleys and items building up in middle of it," Roy said. "The flytipping shall restrict water flow.

"I spoke to a local and he said the burn used to be cleared and dredged regularly. I see this almost every time I come down this way.

"There is the odd time it has been cleared out but whenever I return it is back to the same. I think it is clearly folk in the area who are flytipping.

"The problem has to be addressed. Put a charge or tracers on trolleys to stop this from happening."

Asda have been approached for comment.
