Edinburgh roundabout halted as fire service rush to scene of incident

Scottish Fire and Rescue is on the scene of an incident that took place on the Crewe Toll roundabout where a black Mazda was obstructing the road.

Firefighters responded to the emergency between Ferry Road and Crewe Road after receiving a call around 12:00 on Sunday, January 19.

Two appliances are in attendance.

An image from the scene shows seven firefighters in the centre of the roundabout beside their appliance.

Traffic is at a halt while the scene is assessed.

The photo also captures a black Mazda obstructing the middle of the roundabout with a red cylindrical object caught underneath its front bumper.

The nature of the incident is not currently known.

No casualties were reported after the incident.

A spokesperson from Scottish Fire and Rescue said: "We received a call at 12:00 and we have two appliances in attendance. No casualties were reported after the incident."

They stated around 12:30 that their crews would be leaving the scene shortly.
