Edinburgh Ryanair flight forced to abort landing and return to Germany amid Storm Eowyn
A flight due to land in Edinburgh this morning has been forced to divert and return to Germany after what is believed to have been difficulty landing due to strong winds.
Ryanair flight, RYR7RL, was scheduled to touch down in the capital at around 7.35am but Edinburgh plane spotters tracking the plane on Flightradar 24 noticed an issue as it looked to land.

Storm Eowyn will wreak havoc across the central belt with hundreds of flights cancelled or delayed coming in and out of Glasgow and Edinburgh airports with winds potentially reaching 100mph.
The Ryanair service departed German airport Weeze at around 6.50am and was due to land at 7.35am on Friday January 24.

The flight has performed a loop around the capital before travelling south to England and across the sea back to Weeze where it is due to land at around 8.35am.
It is not yet known what alternative arrangements will be put in place for those aiming to travel to Edinburgh.
A statement from Edinburgh Airport said: "A red weather warning has been issued for Edinburgh and large parts of Scotland, with strong winds forecast.
"The Met Office alert has been put in place from 10am to 5pm on Friday, January 24.
"Police Scotland have advised that people should not travel on roads within the Met Office’s red warning area - passengers and staff are urged to follow that advice.

"Following the red alert an amber warning will be in place until 9pm on Friday before the alert changes to yellow through until 3pm on Saturday, January 25.
"Passengers should continue to check the status of their flight with their airline while these warnings are in place and throughout the coming days."
A Ryanair spokesperson said: "A small number of flights to/ from the UK today (Fri, 24 Jan) are experiencing disruptions due to Storm Éowyn.
"We are advising passengers who have been affected by the storm to check their Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight.
"Ryanair sincerely apologises to all passengers affected by these storm-related disruptions, which are entirely beyond our control and have impacted all airlines operating to/from the UK.”
