Edinburgh set for unexpected sunny spell next week with highs of 20C forecast
Edinburgh is set to see a dramatic and unexpected change in the weather next week with highs of 20C forecast.
Following a bitterly cold week with lows of around four and five degrees celsius in the mornings, forecasters at the Met Office have provided a positive update ahead of next week.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, September 17 and 18, locals could bask in 20C sunshine with dry and warm conditions expected, reducing the temptation for residents to turn on the heating for the first time in months.

The weekend is also set to bring dry and unexpected warm conditions of around 17 and 18C with lows staying just in double figures during the night and early morning.
Forecasters at the Met prefect Saturday will bring: "A mainly dry with a few sunny spells breaking through, especially along the east coast. Patchy rain will spread southeast in the evening. A warmer day. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Looking towards Sunday to Tuesday they add: "Dry with some sunshine on Sunday. Dry with bright spells early next week, becoming quite warm in any sunshine."
The wind is also set to ease into next week compared to strong 45mph gusts experienced this week.
