Edinburgh St James Quarter gets new late opening Italian coffee shop

Scotland's first illy cafe has opened on Monday, July 8 at the Edinburgh Food Hall Bonnie & Wild. They have secured the coveted retail spot in the St James Quarter, joining an array of award-winning chefs and kitchens.

The newest addition to the ever-changing range of menus, kitchens and retailers at the food hall joins Chulo's Stuffed Cookies new pop-up.

Mel Hunter, manager of the new illy Caffè at Bonnie & Wild, said: “illy produces some of the world’s best coffee and I’m delighted to be working with them in delivering this new coffee concept, while also working with bakeries in and around Edinburgh to provide a captivating counter of artisanal pastries and cakes.”

Mel confirmed the illy Caffè will have longer opening hours, open from 9am through to 9pm.

The manager has confirmed that the illy Cafe will have a curated selection of speciality teas from Edinburgh's Pekoe teas. The cafe will also be serving pastries and cakes from local bakeries and patisseries from in and around Edinburgh, including acclaimed Le Petit Francais.

Bonnie & Wild opened in 2021, and can seat up to almost 400 guests. It is one of Scotland's biggest indoor food and drink venues, and is home to a dozen independent food stalls and retailers.
