Edinburgh Summer Sessions 2020 lineup: The 1975, Tom Jones and McFly join headliners

Tom Jones will perform at Edinburgh's Summer Sessions for the second year in a row as the full line-up for this year's festival is announced.

The Delilah star will join fellow headliners The 1975 and McFly at the festival in August, alongside Lionel Richie, Michael Kiwanuka, Simple Minds and Travis.

It is the second time the Scottish capital has played host to the Summer Sessions festival, with 2018's inaugural edition seeing the likes of Lewis Capaldi, Madness, Primal Scream and Chrvches perform.

What date is the 2020 Edinburgh Summer Sessions?

The festival is set to run for two weeks across August, from August 9-20 - during the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Tom Jones will open proceedings and Scottish band Travis will end things on the 20th.

Who's headlining this year's festival?

Tom Jones will perform for the second time at the Edinburgh Summer Sessions, following his appearance at the inaugural festival last year.

The Welsh superstar will be joined by Lionel Richie, with the festival marking his first appearance in Edinburgh since 2015.

Simple Minds are also making a grand return to Scotland, performing at the festival for the first time since their Hogmanay show in 2012.

Where is Summer Sessions held?

The festival is held in Princes Street Gardens, close to the city's spectacular castle.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on January 31, and can be bought on the festival's official website here.
