Edinburgh supermarkets have been stocking up their Easter chocolate - only two weeks after Christmas Day.

Some shelves are already full of chocolate eggs and Easter treats in the Co-op, ranging from mini egg bars and the famous Malteser bunnies.

Other stores across Edinburgh including Sainsburys, Asda and Tesco are also well-prepared for the Easter months with Mini Eggs and Creme Eggs spread throughout the shop aisles.

With Easter Sunday taking place on April 20 some may argue it's still too early for the goodies to be on sale.

Many have already expressed their well-natured frustration over the sales.

One person said: "Dear @coopUK - we're still eating chocolate reindeer. Can't we just enjoy the moment?"

Another shopper said on TikTok: "Omg whyyy has shops got Easter chocolates out already, it's only 3rd of January. Or did I skip a few months and land in April already? I must be having nightmares lol. Don't get me wrong, I love Easter chocolate and it tastes so good but damn, not yet."

"This shocks me every year. If I wasn't doing no sugar January, the Mini Eggs would have been grabbed."
