Edinburgh teenager hospitalised as car flips onto its side in early hours crash

A teenage girl was taken to hospital after an early hours crash which left a car on its side in the middle of a busy Edinburgh road.

Police, medics and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were all present on Colinton Road after a vehicle collided with a parked car shortly before 3am on Sunday morning, September 22.

Footage uploaded to social media shows a large police presence and fire engine at the scene with a vehicle on its side in the middle of the road as the street was closed off.

A 17-year-old female was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh to be assessed and police are continuing their inquiries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.55am on Sunday, 22 September, 2024 we were made aware of a vehicle having crashed into a stationary vehicle on Colinton Road, Edinburgh.
