Edinburgh temperatures set to plummet to just 1C as city braces for cold snap
Edinburgh looks set to see temperatures drop to above freezing near the end of this week as the city braces for a cold snap.
According to the Met Office, temperatures could reach as low as 1C on Saturday and Sunday with a mixture of sunny and cloudy conditions throughout the week.
As the dark nights get underway, locals in Edinburgh and the Lothian's may need to dig out their warm clothing ahead of the brisk conditions.

The warmest temperature for the week is set to be 11C on Wednesday and Thursday before dropping closer to the weekend.
Ahead of Tuesday, November 12, the Met Office said: "Dry with well broken cloud during this evening and overnight. This could lead to a few mist and fog patches by dawn along with a frost. Minimum temperature 0 °C."
Forecasters say weather will become "unsettled" throughout the UK and Scotland. They continued: "Turning more unsettled and significantly colder as we head into the weekend with low pressure probably becoming established to the east of the UK bringing rain or showers to most regions.
The heaviest and most frequent spells of rain are most likely in the north where they are likely to turn wintry, especially to the hills of Scotland, but perhaps also to lower levels as colder air digs south. The chance of any widespread or disruptive snowfall affecting more populated areas at this stage however remains low."
