Edinburgh van driver issued penalty after dodgy parking on pedestrian crossing

A van driver in Edinburgh's city centre was caught by police after some dodgy parking.

The vehicle was spotted on Thursday, September 26, parked on a pedestrian crossing on Frederick Street. Road police spotted the van while on patrol, and issued the driver a fixed penalty ticket for three penalty points.

Road Policing Scotland posted to X: "Edinburgh Road Police spotted this vehicle while on patrol that was parked wholly on the zig zag area of a pedestrian crossing.

"The driver was issued with a fixed penalty ticket for 3 penalty points."

On the same day, Edinburgh Road Police also stopped a driver in Craigleith for a "routine check" before discovering they had no licence or insurance to drive.

They posted to X: "Edinburgh Road Police stopped this vehicle in Craigleith, Edinburgh today for a routine check, turns out the driver did not have a licence or any insurance to drive.

"The vehicle was seized and the driver will be reported to the court."
