Edinburgh is set to be hotter than California as forecasters predict highs of 20C for the capital.

Meteorologists at the BBC believe the city will see a brief hot spell on July 17 and 18.

Residents in the capital have been disappointed with what the summer has had to offer with showers being almost constant since the beginning of June.
