Edinburgh woman rushed to hospital after car crushed in major collision
An Edinburgh woman was rushed to hospital after a major crash on Thursday afternoon.
Medics, police and the fire brigade scrambled to the two-vehicle smash on Edinburgh Road at its junction with Loanhead Drive in Newbridge at 3pm on October 17.
Scottish Ambulance Service attended and a woman was taken to hospital as a precaution. A child and another woman were checked over at the scene.

Inquiries into the incident are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, reports The Record.
The crash involved two cars and images show a black Volkswagen severely damaged as emergency services tend to the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a two-car crash on Edinburgh Road at its junction with Loanhead Drive in Newbridge around 3pm on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
"One woman was taken to hospital as a precaution and another woman and a boy were checked over by paramedics at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing.”
At the time, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.56pm on Thursday, October 17 to reports of a collision involving two cars on Edinburgh Road, Newbridge.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and firefighters assisted emergency service partners at the scene.
“Two casualties were in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
