When is the EFL Cup final? Date, teams and European qualification

The first piece of silverware on offer this season is drawing ever closer with the EFL Cup final just around the corner.

Holders Manchester United are out, beaten by Bristol City at the quarter-final stage only for Manchester City to eliminate the Championship high-flyers on Tuesday after two semi-final legs.

But who will face City at Wembley? Chelsea and Arsenal face off at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday after a 0-0 first-leg draw so it's all to play for.

When is the final?

The 58th EFL Cup final takes place at Wembley on February 25th, 2018.

Do the winners qualify for Europe?

Yes, those victorious in a month's time will enter the second qualifying round of next season's Europa League.

Should the winners finish fifth or above in the final Premier League standings, the team who finishes sixth gets the spot.

If the FA Cup winners finish fifth or above, the spot goes to the seventh-placed team.

Who is in the final?

City are gearing up for their sixth appearance in the final, having won four of their previous five.

Chelsea and Arsenal, should they progress, will be making their eighth appearance.
