Traveling home for the holidays? Here are 4 things you need to do right now.

1. Eggnog donuts

Eggnog lovers will go “glazy” for this donut recipe. Start by making the dough from eggnog and dry yeast. Combine that mixture with eggs and unsalted butter. Next, mix in all-purpose flour and gently knead. Cover the dough, let it rise for one hour, and mold it into donut shapes. Cover the donuts and let them rise for one hour before frying them for 30 to 40 seconds on each side or until golden brown.

This simple pastry dish will be your go-to all holiday season:

2. Eggnog crème brûlée

This recipe features a fancy take on eggnog. The crème brûlée involves a custard made from a mix of heavy cream, vanilla extract, nutmeg, allspice and cinnamon combined with whisked egg yolks and sugar. Pour the custard into ramekin dishes, and place in a baking dish with water. After baking for 45 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit, refrigerate the custard for four hours. Finally, cover the custard’s surface with sugar before torching it until caramelized.

3. Eggnog oatmeal

Start the day on a good note with this recipe. First, add oats, eggnog, dried fruit, vanilla extract and salt to a pot. Next, bring the mix to a boil. Then let it simmer on low. Finish off with a sprinkling of cinnamon before serving.

4. Eggnog French toast

This eggnog French toast is totally delicious! Begin by dipping thick slices of brioche bread into a mix of whisked eggs, eggnog, cinnamon and nutmeg. Next, place each battered slice on a skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides. Garnish with chopped strawberries, powdered sugar and syrup. Then dig in!

5. Eggnog kulfi

Kulfi is a popular frozen dessert in Pakistan. First, add whole milk and heavy cream to a large pan on low heat. Next, pour in a mix of whisked egg yolks, sugar and milk, followed by milk solids and sweetened condensed milk. Combine those ingredients with vanilla extract, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cook on low to medium heat for 30 minutes while stirring. Finally, pour the mix into an ice cream mold and freeze for eight hours.
