An angry dad claims a Nintendo game has taught his eight-year-old daughter the word ‘c***’.

Steve Jones has thrown out the £50 ‘Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games’ disk because he claims his daughter Grace copied one of the characters repeatedly making a grunting sound.

The grunt was like the C-word, causing his daughter to start saying the slur.

Mr Jones then had to tell Grace and his sons Alfie, six, Jack, 11, about not repeating it.

He now wants answers from Japanese game giant Nintendo about the x-rated grunts.

‘We were all enjoying our weekly family game night, playing the new Mario game we had just bought two days before,’ said Mr Jones from Barnstaple, Devon.

‘During the football section of the game, there is a specific character called “Shadow” that every time a shot is blocked, saved or even tackled he would shout the word “c***”.

He said he and his wife only realised what was happening when Grace started saying the C-word.

‘We immediately corrected her and told her not to say the word again. We had no idea where she got it from, until Grace told us that it was what her favourite character in the game, Shadow, said.

‘My wife and I gave the game a go when the children were out of the room and found it immediately.’

Volunteer radio presenter Steve and wife Kaye, immediately banned his children from playing the game to stop them using the swearword again.

Within the week of purchasing the Wii U game, at the end of last month, Steve notified video game company Nintendo via an online chat to inform of the current issue, but he has not heard anything back from them.

He added: “They seemed to have no urgency with the email I had sent them.

‘And when they did respond it was just a simple generic response advising us to be patient and that they would look into the matter.’

The Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games was released last month and is the fifth installment on the Mario & Sonic series.

The game coincides with the Rio Olympics, which start on August 5.
