Elaborate Obstacle Course Mapped in Chalk for Children in California Lockdown

Children in Los Angeles, California, enjoyed some cheer during a state-wide lockdown on March 22, with chalk drawings of elaborate hopscotch games and messages of hope scrawled along local sidewalks.

Gary Miereanu posted this video filmed in West Hills, a suburb of Los Angeles, to Twitter, adding: “More neighborhood fun for the kids around the block. Didn’t attempt it for fear [of] twisting an ankle.”

He also shared photos of chalk messages of hope scrawled on the sidewalk, one of which read: “We are in this together.”

California announced a shelter-in-place order on Thursday, March 19, telling people to stay at home unless “absolutely essential” in a bid to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
