Elderly Chinese woman puts wool knitted covers on railing to warm residents' hands

An elderly Chinese woman put wool knitted covers along a stair handrail in a 7-storey residential building, to make residents feel warm when holding on them. The video, filmed in the city of Dalian in Liaoning Province on March 21, shows colourful wool knitted covers on a handrail for seven flights of stairs. According to reports, a 83-year-old elderly woman living in the residential building knitted the handrail cover. She said there are many old people living in the building and they need to hold the handrail when climbing the stairs. The metal handrail is cold in winter, so she came up with the idea to knit a wool cover for the handrail, to make residents feel warm when holding on it. The elderly women knitted the wool covers and put them on the handrail in winter in 2019. The video was provided by local media with permission.
