An elderly cyclist was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a road traffic collision involving a Kia Ceed yesterday morning (26/3).

Thames Valley Police were called to the scene at approximately 10:20am on Sunday, March 26 in Norman Rise at the junction with Beech Hill Road in Spencers Wood.

The woman, who was riding an e-bike, was accompanied by a second cyclist also in her seventies who suffered from minor injuries.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Investigating officer PC Freya Renton of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Three Mile Cross, said: “I would be particularly keen to hear from anybody who has dash-cam in their vehicles to please check this and contact us if it has captured the collision.”

The Kia Ceed, which was involved had a partial registration of N555 and the driver was not hurt in the crash.

“Witnesses can also call 101, quoting reference number 43230133536.”

Following the incident, the woman was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital with a suspected broken pelvis and has since been discharged.
