Linemen from North Carolina began traveling to Louisiana on Friday morning, October 9, as final preparations for the expected landfall of Hurricane Delta were underway.
This footage shows Duke Energy support staff from North Carolina and South Carolina leaving Raleigh early on Friday morning. The power company employees were headed for Louisiana, where they would aid Entergy Louisiana workers following Hurricane Delta. Duke Energy also sent crews from Florida to help restore power to affected areas if needed.
The National Hurricane Center warned that by early Friday, storm preparations needed to be finished before it became “dangerous or impossible to complete” them due to tropical-storm-force winds.
