Elizabeth Olsen calls out magazine for digitally altering her face

Elizabeth Olsen is the latest star to call out a magazine for digitally altering her appearance.

Empire magazine recently released its newest issue which features the cast of “Avengers: Infinity War,” including Olsen as the Scarlet Witch, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Dave Bautista as Drax and Danai Gurira as Okoye.

Olsen, 29, took to Instagram to share the cover — and also call the magazine out for Photoshopping her to the point that she’s almost unrecognizable.

“Does this look like me?” she asked.

Her followers were quick to respond, wondering why the magazine would edit Olsen’s appearance so drastically while leaving the others basically untouched. Some are even calling on the magazine to do a redo.

“Not even remotely like you…I had to look through all the cover photos to find you…looks like Empire used someone else as you,” commented one fan.

“I thought the same thing. To be honest, they should change it to make it look more like you,” added another.

The magazine cover is one in a series of six for the month of May, which features different “Infinity War”’ cast members split into groups of four. The series is a collector’s edition for Marvel fans.

Olsen has now joined an army of other female stars who are calling out the magazine industry for its use of Photoshop. With actors like Lupita Nyongo, Zendaya and Keira Knightley in the ranks, we’re hopeful these powerful voices will put an end to the media upholding unrealistic standards when it comes to women’s appearance.
