Ellen's 60th birthday brings Michelle Obama, Jimmy Kimmel, Sofia Vergara, and Jamie Foxx

Ellen DeGeneres celebrated her 60th birthday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Thursday and the stars came out: Former first lady Michelle Obama and Chance the Rapper stopped by. Jimmy Kimmel showed up in a figure skating costume because, why not? Jamie Foxx turned up with a bottle of champagne. But Sofia Vergara took the utilitarian route in her celebration. She rolled out on a gift electric scooter that had a basket filled with coupons.

That’s where the jokes ended and the tears began. DeGeneres’s wife, Portia de Rossi, shares DeGeneres’s lifelong admiration of Dian Fossey, who dedicated her life to mountain gorillas and conserving their habitat. So, she unveiled plans for the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to be built in Rwanda. She also announced the creation of the Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund to help her wife do what she does best — give back.
