Ellie Goulding Cancels Two Upcoming Gigs After Being Struck With Mystery Illness

Ellie Goulding has been forced to cancel two upcoming gigs in Latvia and Finland this weekend due to ill health.

The Love Me Like You Do hitmaker broke the news to fans on Twitter yesterday (July 13), explaining that the mystery illness will prevent her from travelling long-distance over the next few days, but vowed to ‘bounce back.’

She wrote: “Am sorry that I had to cancel this weekends festivals. Because of ill-health I’ve been advised to not travel or perform. Il bounce back (sic).”

The 29-year old singer had been scheduled for a mainstage slot at the Positivus Festival in Salacgriva, Latvia on Friday (July 15), before heading to the Ilosaarirock Festival in Joensuu, Finland on Saturday (July 16).

And this news comes just days after Ellie – who is fresh off a Pyramid Slot at Glastonbury Festival – cancelled two further shows in Australia on her Delirium World Tour due to an ‘unforseen scheduling conflict’ in October.

Fans rushed to Twitter to share their concerns and well wishes for the award-winning artist, with one user writing: “Hope you feel better soon love. No hard feelings about it, your health always comes first!”

While another added: “Don’t be sorry. You worked very hard this past year… you deserve some rest love.”

Summing up the consensus of the messages, one person wrote: “GET WELL AND SLAY ELLIE.”

Ellie recently opened up about her battle with panic attacks, but has learned to keep them at bay with cognitive behavioural therapy.

“I was skeptical at first because I’d never had therapy, but not being able to leave the house was so debilitating. And this was when my career was really taking off,” she candidly told Flare magazine.

“My surroundings would trigger a panic attack, so I couldn’t go to the studio unless I was lying down in the car with a pillow over my face. I used to beat myself up about it.”

It’s certainly been a year of ups and downs for Ellie, but we hope that she bounces back very soon – though, not before she’s had the rest and relaxation time to fully recover!
