Ellie Goulding comforts driver after horror of being pushed sideways along road by Royal Mail lorry

Ellie Goulding has expressed her horror after witnessing a car being pushed sideways by a Royal Mail lorry down a busy London road.

Vidoes posted online show a black Volkswagen GTi being pushed down the A40 in west London while other drivers honk their horns in a bid to get attention.

Goulding, 32, revealed on Instagram: “I’m the one in the car checking if this guy was okay - craziest thing I’ve ever seen on the road. Everyone was driving past but my driver Guy stopped. Drive safe and look out for others everyone!”

The Beating Heart singer got into the car with the driver once the lorry had stopped to comfort him after the traumatic experience.

Footage shows the shocked lorry driver when he finally stops shouting: “I didn’t see him, I honestly didn’t see him.”

Goulding added in her post: “On a side note, I can’t believe the first instinct of the other drivers who got out was to instantly start filming on their phones and shout abuse at the poor shocked driver, not even checking the other driver was okay. What on earth.”
