Sending loads of hugs and chicken soup to Ellie Goulding this weekend, who has revealed that she’s been diagnosed with exhaustion.

We can’t say we’re surprised though – the woman never stops!

Doctors have told her that if she keeps going at the rate she is, she’s in danger of loosing her voice – and we can’t have that, can we people?

Speaking to London’s Evening Standard, Ellie revealed that after doing 100 shows already this year, her body and voice needs a rest:

“I’ve had to cancel some festivals this weekend because of exhaustion.

"I’ve done nearly 100 shows this year and my doctor has said if I do this weekend my voice might not bounce back from it. They did a bunch of tests on me and I have been diagnosed with exhaustion.”

“I’m a hard worker. I don’t cancel anything unless I really need to, but my doctor said, ‘Ellie, your voice is going to burn out’. Glastonbury was the point where I realised I was pretty exhausted”

"It’s all good though - I’m feeling really positive about the rest of the year.”

The next few months will see the singer travel Down Under - to New Zealand and Australia in September and October as part of her world tour.

The singer had been forced to cancel two upcoming gigs in Latvia and Finland this weekend due to ill health.

The ‘Love Me Like You Do’ hitmaker broke the news to fans on Twitter this week explaining that the mystery illness will prevent her from travelling long-distance over the next few days, but vowed to ‘bounce back.’

She wrote: “Am sorry that I had to cancel this weekend’s festivals. Because of ill-health I’ve been advised to not travel or perform. I’ll bounce back.”

The 29-year old singer had been scheduled for the main stage slot at the Positivus Festival in Salacgriva, Latvia on Friday (July 15), before heading to the Ilosaarirock Festival in Joensuu, Finland on Saturday (July 16).

And this news comes just days after she cancelled two further shows in Australia on her Delirium World Tour due to an ‘unforseen scheduling conflict’ in October.

Fans rushed to Twitter to share their concerns and well wishes for the award-winning artist, with one user writing: “Hope you feel better soon love. No hard feelings about it, your health always comes first!”, while another added: “Don’t be sorry. You worked very hard this past year… you deserve some rest love.”

Ellie recently opened up about her battle with panic attacks, but has learned to keep them at bay with cognitive behavioural therapy.

“I was sceptical at first because I’d never had therapy, but not being able to leave the house was so debilitating. And this was when my career was really taking off,” she candidly told Flare magazine.

“My surroundings would trigger a panic attack, so I couldn’t go to the studio unless I was lying down in the car with a pillow over my face. I used to beat myself up about it.”
