From Woman's Day

Even the good things must come to an end, and that was certainly the case with The Office. In the seven years since the workplace comedy ended, fans have been beginning for more. And with new people discovering the show on Netflix every day, the pleas have only grown. This leaves fans wondering if The Office be yet another in a string of early 2000s shows to get a reboot?

The short answer: Probably not. The cast members are off doing all sorts of projects so getting everyone together could prove to be a challenge. But don't give up hope quite yet. Ellie Kemper, who plays Erin Hannon on the show, tells Woman's Day that while another season likely won't happen, she'd be happy to do a special episode.

"I’m up for it," Kemper says, despite the fact that she says there's been "no progress" toward getting one off the ground. "What I think would be a dream is if there were just a one-off, like a Christmas reunion, maybe people would come on board with that. From a logistics point of view, it seems very difficult for everyone to be available at one time, but to me that would be an awesome treat."

Kemper is proud to be a part of the show and its lasting legacy. "It’s so thrilling to me when kids — and I mean they are kids —like 12-year-olds come up to me and they’re like 'Oh, were you on The Office?' Because they were babies when it was actually on television, and it’s really a comfort to me to know that people of all ages find that show relatable."

Though an Office reunion might not happen anytime soon, in the meantime Kemper answered some very important questions about the show for Woman's Day. Hopefully this can hold the fans over until they pull the trigger on a reunion episode.

Woman's Day: Who's your favorite of Erin's boyfriends?

Ellie Kemper: Probably Gabe. Gabe is so weird, but also i love Zach Woods, which is probably why he’s my favorite of Erin's boyfriend.

WD: Do you think in a post-Dunder Mifflin world Erin goes back to using her real first name, Kelly?

EK: Thank you for bringing that up, I feel like no one remembers that. Her name is Kelly. That mix up is so funny, the way she’s just called Erin in The Office. I love how quickly she went to just accepting, "oh yes, I’ll just go by a name I’ve never gone by in my life." She adapts to it really quickly, so maybe she’ll finally take ownership and say “You know what? That wasn’t my choice to be Erin. I’m going back to being Kelly.”

WD: You need a secretary. Who are you picking — Erin or Pam?

EK: I mean, I have to get the job done, I would go with Pam. I don’t know how competent Erin is. She’s a sweetheart, but Pam gets it done.
