Elon Musk Is Building Robots To Do Your Housework For You

Tech billionaire Elon Musk is developing ‘domestic robots’ to carry out household chores, just like The Jetsons’s Rosie the Robot Maid.

As part a new initiative by the Tesla and SpaceX CEO’s robotic company Open AI, robo-cleaners will be created from existing technology, meaning that they shouldn’t take too long to produce

The serial entrepreneur’s plan is to use ‘off-the-shelf robots’ and adapt them for specific uses.

“We believe that learning algorithms can eventually be made reliable enough to create a general-purpose robot,” the company says in a blog post.

Launched in 2015, Open AI is a non-profit company, the aim of which is bring useful robots to the masses, rather than keeping them looked up in labs.

Along with a cyborg to do the housework, Musk also wants to develop a bot with a natural understanding of language.

Many have praised the idea of AI tech being developed by a company has no need to generate a profit, and instead is building tech to benefit humanity.
