Elsa Pataky on Liam Hemsworth's breakup with Miley Cyrus: 'I think he deserves much better'
Elsa Pataky wants only for the best for her brother-in-law, Liam Hemsworth, following his split with Miley Cyrus.
“After a relationship that you’ve dedicated ten years to, he’s a little bit down, but he’s coping well, he’s a strong boy and he deserves the best,” Pataky told reporters at an event promoting Women’s Secret Lingerie in Madrid, according to both Hola! and E! News. “I think he deserves much better.”
Pataky has been married to Chris Hemsworth, Liam’s brother, for nine years.
They walked down the aisle the year after Liam and the “Wrecking Ball” singer met filming their 2010 movie The Last Song. They dated on and off until December 2018, when they married. Cyrus and Hemsworth announced their split in August.
He’s since spent time living with Pataky and the superhero star in his native Australia.
“You always find support in your family, and he’s joined at the hip with his brother, who has been there to give all the strength he needed,” Pataky said.
Since the breakup with Cyrus, Hemsworth has also spent some of his time with Aussie actress Maddison Brown.
The singer herself briefly dated Kaitlynn Carter and then longtime friend Cody Simpson. On Wednesday, Simpson appeared to dismiss rumours that he and Cyrus had ended their relationship with an Instagram post.
