Elton John’s Sons Love Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’

Elton John has revealed that his two sons - Zachary, five, and Elijah, three, - are big fans of one particular song.

Nope, we’re not talking about one of Sir Elton’s classics. They’re actually particularly loving Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’.

Speaking on The Ellen Show, Elton explained: “If you’d have said to me ten years ago I’d be sitting on your show, married to the man I love and have two beautiful children, I would have said, ‘you put acid in my drink’.

“But life throws you challenges and life throws you curve balls and great curve balls and these two children have come along at a time where I never thought I’d have children.”

He described the two adorable boys he has with husband David Furnish as the ‘greatest thing’ in their lives, adding that they are ‘amazing’.

Asked if the little ones are musical at all, Elton revealed: “They love ‘Hotline Bling’, that’s their favourite song. They love ‘Uptown Funk’ and then Zachary loves Kraftwerk which is a bit worrying.

“I love Kraftwerk myself but it’s very strange for a five-year-old to like it.”

He added that the boys are interested in some of his songs too (hurrah!), saying: “They sing ‘Rocket Man’, ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’ and ‘Betty and the Jets’.”

Elton and David celebrated their wedding anniversary last month, with the couple sharing lovely photos on Instagram and writing: “Ten years ago today, we were one of the first couples to embark on a Civil Partnership in the UK. One year ago today, we renewed our lifetime pledge to each other by getting legally married. Today, we are happier than ever - and want to thank fans and friends for supporting us with such open hearts and joyful spirit.

“We also want to shine a light on all the less privileged and less advanced parts of the world, where LGBT people are criminalised and discriminated against. We pledge our support and will continue to help wherever we can. @davidfurnish @ejaf #ShareTheLove #21December.”
