Emergency services called after aircraft crashes in Lincolnshire field

Police are currently at the scene after an aircraft crash-landed in a Lincolnshire field. The incident has taken place in Coningsby at around 1.20pm on Saturday, May 25.

The aircraft was carrying one person and no-one else is believed to be involved, according to the force. Roads have been closed as emergency crews work at the scene.

Lincolnshire Police said in a statement: "Police and other emergency services are currently in attendance at an incident in Coningsby following reports of an aircraft crashing in a field just before 1.20pm. It is believed to be a single occupant aircraft and nobody else is thought to have been involved.

"Road closures are in place in the areas of Dogdyke Road and Sandy Bank. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. Further updates will follow as soon as available."
