Emergency services scrambled after ammonia and machete attack

Police have issued an appeal following a violent incident in Lancaster on Saturday evening (May 25).

Emergency services were called to the scene, on Ridge Lane, shortly after 7.15pm. An individual was assaulted by two men.

One of the attackers was armed with a machete, the other with a bottle believed to contain ammonia. According to Lancashire Constabulary, the area was busy at the time of the incident.

Officers have now issued an appeal for witnesses. Particularly those with doorbell or dashcam footage of the assault.


There has been no further details released regarding the victim, or their condition at this time.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Can you help? We are appealing for information, witnesses or CCTV/dashcam/doorbell footage following an assault in Lancaster.

"The assault occurred on Ridge Lane in Lancaster at approximately 7:15pm on Saturday 25th May. The victim was attacked by two men, one of the men had a machete and the other a bottle of suspected ammonia.

"The area was busy at the time, with lots of traffic, passing motorists and pedestrians. Anybody with information, CCTV/dashcam/doorbell footage should call 101 quoting log 1254 of the 25th May 2024."
