Emergency services swarm Blantyre road after car crashes into house causing gas leak

Police have closed off a road and told motorists to avoid the area

Emergency services have sealed off a busy road in Blantyre after a car crashed into a house, causing a gas leak.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene on Glasgow Road on Sunday morning. It remains closed between Whistleberry Road and Parkville Drive.

There are no reported injuries, however, motorists have been urged to "avoid the area".

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Glasgow Road in Blantyre is closed between the junctions for Whistleberry Road and Parkville Drive following a car crashing into a house and a gas leak.

"There are no reported injuries. Motorists are advised to avoid the area."
