Emilia Clarke’s Makeup Artist Has the Best Tip for Doing Eye Makeup in a Hurry

It’s safe to assume that Khaleesi, er, Emilia Clarke has some beauty tricks up her sleeve. There’s that effortless hair, that glowing skin and, of course, those full eyebrows. But, as the saying goes, behind every great star’s beauty routine is a celebrity makeup artist leading the charge. Enter Monika Blunder, who, in addition to Clarke, calls Jessica Alba, Amanda Seyfried, Gemma Chan, Megan Fox and Annabelle Wallis clients.

When PureWow chatted with the beauty vet about her go-to hacks, we were excited to find out what Blunder calls the ultimate solution for doing makeup when you’re in a hurry.

“Especially if I am in a rush, I will use under-eye masks while I do a client’s eye makeup to catch fallout and give me an easy guide to create a winged liner, all while moisturizing and prepping the under-eye,” Blunder explained during a Celebeauty Sit-Down.

Although under-eye masks like Clé de Peau Beauté Vitality Enhancing Eye Mask Supreme ($150), Pixi DetoxifEYE Depuffing Eye Patches ($24) and Ulta 24K Magic Hydrogel Eye Masks ($22) do seem a little, well, bougie, Blunder says they’re key. And, honestly, we’ll take all the help we can get when it comes to erasing raccoon eyes and making winged liner look less like we did it while going over a speed bump.

How else does Blunder prep and moisturize her clients’ under-eye areas before they walk a red carpet? “I have a lot of skincare in my makeup bag, and one of my favorites is Clé de Peau La Crème ($340). I love to start my face with a rich moisturizer, and La Crème is an amazing base that gives me extra hydration,” Blunder says.

After priming and applying moisturizer, Blunder uses “Clé de Peau Concealer ($73) in the T-zone to correct redness and then the Clé de Peau Radiant Corrector ($65) to brighten under the eyes,” noting that “the texture and coverage works for every skin type.”

Now, excuse us while we follow Blunder’s lead and order some under-eye masks of our own ASAP.
