Emily Atack to step in to present 'This Morning'

It has been announced I’m A Celebrity runner-up Emily Atack will stand-in as host on This Morning – when Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby go on their Easter Break.

The Sun have reported Inbetweeners actress Atack will be joined by fellow I’m A Celeb campmate John Barrowman during the stint.

Emily told The Sun: “I am absolutely over the moon to be joining This Morning with my best mate John Barrowman over Easter.

“It’s a dream come true to be presenting one of my favourite shows. I look ­forward to being on the iconic sofa.

“We’re going to have so much fun.”

The announcement comes four months after the actress won a host of new fans after her down to earth performance in the jungle, which saw her reach the final before eventually missing out to winner Harry Redknapp.

Atack will be joined by Barrowman on Friday, 12 April. It has been rumoured the the show will be an opportunity for ITV to get a feel for the pair and how they come across as a duo with TV audiences. The Sun reported a source on the inside said: “Bosses think This Morning is a great opportunity for Emily and there’s no reason why it couldn’t open much bigger doors if it goes well.”

Of the potential for more TV presenting, Emily told the daily newspaper: “There are ideas floating around. At the moment everything is meetings and exciting opportunities.”

As well as telly, the 29-year-old has been trying her hand out as a stage performer. Her self-penned comedy show Talk Thirty to Me, will see the actress tour the UK performing in theatres to a live audience.


Talking to Glamour magazine about the show, she said: “I’ve always been frightened of turning thirty. So I’m writing a show about it and tackling it head on. It will be called Talk Thirty To Me.

“What the jungle proved to me is that- even if you’re frightened of something you can still get through it. You can get through anything.”
