Emily Gold, America’s Got Talent Contestant From Los Osos High School Dance Troupe, Dead at 17
Emily Gold, a contestant from the current season of America’s Got Talent, was found dead Friday, Sept. 13. She was 17 years old.
The dancer and cheerleader from Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. was found near the 210 freeway, TVLine has confirmed. The San Bernardino County’s coroners office has determined the cause of death to be suicide.

“With great sadness we share our Los Osos Grizzly Emily Gold has passed away,” reads a message on the GoFundMe set up for her family. “As a community, let’s come together and support the Gold family in this difficult time. Please know this money will go directly to the family to support them and help with expenses.”
“I’m sorry to share tragic news with you regarding a fellow Grizzly,” Los Osos High School principal Eric Cypher wrote in a message to the school’s parents and students. “Emily was on both our Varsity Dance Team and Varsity Cheer squad. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family as they grieve.”
The school’s dance troupe made it to the quarterfinals on the NBC talent competition series, but was eliminated in the results show that aired Wednesday, Aug. 14.
