Emily Middlemas questions Nick Grimshaw's mental state after he slagged off her performance

In case you missed it, Emily Middlemas lost her spot in The X Factor over the weekend, narrowly missing out on this weekend’s grand final.

However, her elimination probably didn’t come as too much of a surprise for one former X Factor judge, with Radio 1 Nick Grimshaw previously slagging off Emily’s performances.

Now Em has hit back at Nick’s comments, even questioning his mental state after he said that he didn’t like her rendition of Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’.

At the time, Nick had tweeted to his two million followers: “I just watched someone play the ukulele and sing Toxic by Britney Spears on the X Factor and people pretended it wasn’t horrible.”

Hitting back at the DJ, Emily retorted: “Not everyone is going to like my voice and that’s fine.

“He probably shouldn’t tweet nasty things though.”

She continued to OK! magazine: “You never know what people’s emotions are or what place they are in mentally.”

Nick hasn’t responded to Emily’s comeback, but we have a feeling that it is water off a duck’s back.

Matt Terry, 5 After Midnight and Saara Aalto are set to battle it out for the X Factor 2016 crown this weekend, with Emily and the other eliminated finalists also returning to the stage for the final group performance of the series.
