Eminem Makes Shocking Reference to Alec Baldwin, “Rust” Shooting in New Song: 'Get Popped Like Halyna Hutchins'
Alec Baldwin is currently in the middle of an involuntary manslaughter trial in New Mexico
Eminem references Alec Baldwin as well as late Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in lyrics featured on one of his new songs.
The rapper debuted a new album titled The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) on July 12, featuring a track called "Fuel."
At one point in the song, Eminem, 51, raps about guns and says: "But it's in a holster, I proceed to bust it / F--- around and get popped like Halyna Hutchins / Like I'm Alec Baldwin, what I mean is buckin' you down, coup de grâce…."
Hutchins, 42, was killed on Oct 21, 2021, in New Mexico while on the set of the Western drama Rust, starring Baldwin, who held the prop gun that contained live bullets when it discharged. Director Joel Souza was also shot, though he survived his wounds. Hutchins is survived by husband Matthew and their son Andros, 11, as well as her mother, father and sister, who live in Ukraine.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer in charge of prop weapons on Rust, was convicted in March after being found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. Baldwin, 66, is currently on trial for involuntary manslaughter for his involvement, though he pleaded not guilty and has said he did not pull the trigger.
In opening statements earlier this week, prosecutors claimed Baldwin engaged in "reckless" behavior on set the day of the shooting. Meanwhile, the actor's attorney told the jury, "This was an unspeakable tragedy" but "Alec Baldwin committed no crime."
