"I feel much more seen when I’m referred to as ‘they', but my closest friends, they will call me ‘she’ and I don’t mind, because I know they know me," they said.

Corrin added: "In my mind, gender just isn’t something that feels fixed, and I don’t know if it ever will be. There might always be some fluidity there for me."

Corrin revealed they have struggled to reconcile their gender identity and dating preferences — seeing men and women at times — but received support from their younger brother, who is bisexual.

"The next generation is so much more chill. They are finding a way to express themselves which is less binary in a very organic way. While we’re almost caught in between," said Corrin.

Corrin's next roles include co-leading a new adaptation of Lady Chatterley's Lover with Jack O'Connell and then starring alongside Harry Styles in My Policeman for Prime Video.

The latter movie sees Styles play a closeted cop called Tom, who marries Corrin's Marion while trying to hide his secret from the rest of the world.

Corrin revealed that they "really had a laugh" with their dresser on My Policeman over fitting them with 1960s-style bras.

"I remember struggling with having to wear bras in Chatterley and as Marion, but it’s quite difficult, because I’m not Emma, right? I’m an actor, and I have a job to do," they added.

My Policeman is due to be released via Prime Video and in cinemas later this year.
