Emma Raducanu's split from billionaire boyfriend, Romeo Beckham pictures and toxic Andy Murray row
Emma Raducanu is currently competing in the Korea Open as she looks to bounce back from her first round exit at the US Open.
Raducanu shot to fame in 2021 when, as a teenager, she astounded the tennis world by qualifying for the US Open and clinching the Grand Slam title, etching her name into the annals of history.
Since then, she has become one of the most discussed athletes in the UK and beyond, with her off-court life often attracting as much attention as her numerous on-court achievements.
Her love life has also been making headlines recently, along with an unpleasant Wimbledon row involving Andy Murray.
Raducanu's row with Andy Murray
Raducanu found herself in the eye of a storm during Wimbledon, effectively ending Any Murray's Wimbledon career after she pulled out of their planned doubles pairing at the last minute.
A statement from Raducanu, who had progressed to the fourth round of the singles, said: “Unfortunately I woke up with some stiffness in my right wrist this morning, so therefore I have decided to make the very tough decision to withdraw from the mixed doubles tonight. I’m disappointed as I was really looking forward to playing with Andy but got to take care.”
Murray was said to be "devastated" by the news as he lost the chance for a final farewell at the home of British tennis. A row then erupted as his mother, Judy, issued a two-word comment showing her shock at the decision. The 64-year-old, who coached Andy in his early days, reacted to sports presenter Marcus Buckland’s statement, which read: “Astonishing news that Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her mixed doubles match with Andy Murray. She’s citing soreness in her right wrist. It means Murray has played his last match at Wimbledon. Oh dear!”
Judy Murray replied: “Yes, astonishing."
The furore brought unwanted headlines for Raducanu and she has still not spoken to Murray since the incident.
Murray said of his mother's reaction: “I think that it's always important in situations like this to remember that at that moment everyone is really emotional because it's the end of me playing at Wimbledon.
“She's my mum, so she obviously cares a lot about me and has been a huge part of my career. Everyone's emotions are obviously running high. My mum's obviously always going to support me and look out for my best interests. She's been my best supporter.”
Asked about his relationship with Raducanu, he said: “I haven't spoken to her since we chatted on the phone, when she told me she wasn't going to play.”
Rumoured Romance with Romeo Beckham
Speculation was rife when the son of a sports icon was spotted watching Raducanu play at Wimbledon this summer.
As Raducanu triumphed over Elise Mertens in straight sets in the second round, Romeo Beckham - the second eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham - was seen in the stands, accompanied by friends and former Germany midfielder Sami Khedira.
The 21 year old Brentford footballer and tennis enthusiast, who trained with Andy Murray during his five-year break from football, has caught everyone's attention. The Beckhams are known Raducanu fans, evidenced by David, former England captain, watching the tennis sensation from the Royal Box at Centre Court with his mum Sandra.
That Romeo Beckham happened to be in attendance might have been out of sheer admiration for Raducanu, but it set tongues wagging online as many pondered the nature of their relationship. His Instagram post showing Raducanu mid-game, adorned with love hearts, fueled speculation.
Yet when probed about his presence, Raducanu played it down, stating, "I mean, I think he's, yeah, he's really cool," and expressed high regard for both the Beckham name and David's influence on British sports, noting, "His dad is, you know, someone that I think every athlete looks up to, especially every British athlete, you know what he's kind of gone through with the media, with his career, with the pressure moments."
She went on to express respect for David Beckham's staunch support, attending her first round right from the get-go: "Having David (Beckham) in my first round at the front - he was there from the start. At first point even when the crowd was pretty empty. So, I have the utmost respect for him and I think he's just amazing for British sport in general."
The personal life of Romeo, who has had an intermittent romance with model Mia Regan since 2019 and most recently parted ways in February 2024, remains a subject of public intrigue.
Split from billionaire's son
Raducanu has recently parted ways with Carlo Agostinelli, son of billionaire Robert Agostinelli. The former beau is a budding footballer who had a three-month stint with Tottenham Hotspur before moving to the US to play for Stanford University.
The pair reportedly began their relationship in May 2023 and were spotted on various trips together, including a visit to Mexico for Dior's 2024 Cruise show. They also confirmed their romance during Paris Fashion Week, where they were seen strolling arm-in-arm and sharing smiles.
However, it seems they have now decided to part ways, with Raducanu unfollowing Agostinelli on social media just weeks before Wimbledon.
Huge net worth
The 21 year old's remarkable triumph at the 2021 US Open propelled her to global fame, as she morphed from an unknown teenage qualifier into the fresh face of British tennis overnight. Her historic win saw her shatter numerous records as she became the first ever qualifier to clinch a Grand Slam title and the first British woman to do so since Virginia Wade's Wimbledon victory in 1977.
At just 18, she was also the youngest Grand Slam champion since Maria Sharapova in 2004. Naturally, securing that title altered Raducanu's life in more ways than one, as she quickly graced the cover of every newspaper and magazine, was crowned the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year and even received an MBE for her contributions to the sport.
Endorsement deals swiftly followed, and she soon became a brand ambassador for luxury labels including Dior, Tiffany and Porsche, as well as companies like HSBC, Vodafone and British Airways. Raducanu has also inked deals with Nike, Wilson and Evian, while she has featured in advertisements for Sports Direct too.
All of this means that, on top of her career earnings which currently sit at just over £3 million, Raducanu is reported to have an astonishing net worth. According to the Sunday Times Rich List, it is estimated to be around £10 million, with Forbes last year ranking her as the sixth highest-paid tennis player globally.
The British sensation is on the cusp of an even more lucrative future, with specialists forecasting she might surpass the massive £100 million mark in wealth if her triumphs mimic her 2021 success. A top sports agent has been quoted by MailOnline stating: "She can easily earn £100 million or more. The sky's the limit."
