Emma Willis will front a music show on ITV this autumn that is set to bring members of the public face-to-face with their musical heroes for a performance of a lifetime.

Your Song will be a one-off 60 minute special produced by Simon Cowell's entertainment company Syco and Thames (part of FremantleMedia UK), and will celebrate the lives of real people who have done something extraordinary by treating them to a performance from some of their favourite musical artists.

Emma Willis spoke excitedly about her upcoming role hosting Your Song, saying: "This is an amazing show to be a part of.

"Imagine seeing somebody you love, and who is so deserving of being surprised with the performance of a lifetime by their musical hero. I think there'll be plenty of tears, hugs and happiness."

And you know the show will be safe in Emma's hands too as she's long-since proven herself as host following her time on The Voice UK and Big Brother, as well as stepping into host the Brit Awards alongside Dermot O'Leary earlier this year.

The production team behind Your Song is the same team behind Simon Cowell's other huge ITV primetime shows The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent, so you can bet we can expect some big musical names and some bold staging and production values too.

And, speaking for Syco, head of Global Television Nigel Hall added: "We are sure [Your Song] will bring surprise, entertainment and emotion to everyone at home.

"We all have that special song which means the world to us – and it will be really exciting to see superstars perform for their biggest fans."

There's no word yet on which stars will be appearing on the show, but you can put forward someone you think deserves the performance of a lifetime now by emailing yoursong@thames.tv.

Your Song will air on ITV later this year.
