Emmerdale airs a change for Ross and Marlon in latest episode

Emmerdale spoilers follow from the latest episode to air on ITV1 and stream on ITVX.

Emmerdale has aired a big breakthrough for Ross Barton and Marlon Dingle in today's (January 14) latest episode.

Marlon and Ross haven't seen eye-to-eye since Ross returned to the village last year, with Marlon believing him to be bad influence on April Windsor. When Marlon discovered that April had disappeared over Christmas, he blamed Ross.

In tonight's episode, Marlon tried handing out leaflets about April to people in Leeds, where she had apparently last been seen, but was unsuccessful in getting anyone to pay attention.

Later on, Marlon saw a girl who looked like April on the streets and ran after her. To his surprise, he ran into Ross.

Ross explained that he was also looking for April, and has been almost every day. Marlon wasn't happy about that at first, saying: "You've a cheek, seeing as you're to blame for her disappearing in the first place."

"It was you that forced me to push her away in the first place," Ross retorted. "You making me turn my back on her hasn't helped with any of this. Listen, I just wanna find her. I just wanna bring her back safe. For what it's worth, I really am sorry."

Marlon soon calmed down and admitted that he does need to take some of the blame as well, and said that he'd appreciate Ross' help.

As the two put up more flyers and further buried the hatchet, the camera panned out to show a wall of flyers, appealing for information on dozens and dozens of missing people.

Back in the village, Rhona Goskirk opened up to Vanessa Woodfield about the stress of not only the April situation, but about the salacious stories that had appeared about her in the press. At the end of the episode, it was revealed Wendy Posner had spoken to the journalist, who began blackmailing her.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
