Viewers were left heartbroken by last night's scenes as Lisa – one of the soap's longest-running characters – tragically passed away on her and Zak's wedding day.
As we know, Lisa (Jane Cox) had been diagnosed with a terminal heart condition, but when she broke the news to her family earlier this month, she explained she had months left to live.
Sadly, that was not the case. Lisa briefly popped home to change out of her wedding dress and pick up Zak's wedding present, but by the time Zak got back to the house he found her dead on the sofa.
Set during the same day, tonight's episode delivered even more emotional scenes as Belle walked in to find Zak crying over his wife.
In disbelief, Belle broke down into tears and refused to accept Lisa's death as other members of the family tried to offer their support. Soon after, the sad news was broken to the rest of the village while they were still partying in the pub.
Viewers soon took to Twitter to praise the heartbreaking episode.
